The Big Gassy Apple

If you're like David's mum and have heard on the news this morning that Manhattan has come to a standstill/shutdown over an unidentified gas odour permeating through they city, don't worry, as far as I can tell it's not a big deal (I haven't been outside yet so I'm not complaining anyway). David said it's really strong at his office - he works in the West Village/Meatpacking District, only a few blocks from the suspected epicenter but it is also present up and down the West side of Manhattan, and wafting across the river into New Jersey. I'll duck out now and have a sniff.
